Our School Results

At Hamstreet, we want every child to achieve their potential and be well prepared for the next stage of their education. We value academic achievement alongside personal development, confidence and wellbeing.

At the end of Year 6, pupils are assessed in reading, writing and mathematics through national assessments and teacher assessment. Our published results are shown below alongside the equivalent Kent and national averages for schools in England.

About these comparisons: All figures in this 2025 section relate to the 2025 Key Stage 2 assessments. Percentage-point differences and scaled-score differences are separate measures. The results represent one Year 6 cohort and should be considered alongside the wider work and achievements of the school. The bar charts for percentages use a 0-100 scale; scaled-score charts use an 80-120 scale.

Understanding Key Stage 2 Results

Key Stage 2 results provide information about pupils’ attainment at the end of primary school. Different measures describe different aspects of their achievement.

Expected Standard

Pupils must achieve a scaled score of at least 100 in reading and mathematics, and be assessed as working at the expected standard or above in writing, to meet the combined expected standard.

Higher Standard

This combined measure reflects pupils achieving a scaled score of at least 110 in reading and mathematics, together with greater depth in writing.

Scaled Scores

Reading and mathematics tests use scaled scores from 80 to 120. A score of 100 represents the expected standard. The published average describes the attainment of pupils with valid test scores.

Kent and England Averages

Kent and England averages provide a useful reference point for understanding school results. They do not, on their own, account for differences between pupil cohorts or determine the quality of education provided by a school.

Pupil Progress Information

Progress measures provide additional information about the progress pupils make between different stages of their education.

The Department for Education did not publish Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2 progress scores for the 2023/24 or 2024/25 academic years, because comparable Key Stage 1 assessment information was unavailable following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Further progress information can be explored through the Department for Education’s official publications as new measures become available. DfE plans to publish 2025/26 progress measures in December 2026.
